Our global partners’ patented DDoS protection technologies create the most advanced automated global DDoS mitigation solutions in the world with intelligent and intuitive design. Culminating from years of continuous research and development our DDoS mitigation solutions are updated daily to stay two steps ahead of malicious attacks.
What is a DDoS attack?
DDoS, short for distributed denial-of-service, is a type of cyber-attack that overwhelms and eventually shuts down access to a network, effectively keeping others from reaching it. The most common way to do this is the attacker gathering “zombie” computers that they can direct in botnets to flood the target network. Sometimes this is done through pure brute force, sometimes by targeting a weaker layer of a website and exploiting features. Sometimes it is both of those things to make it harder to stop.
The end result is usually the same: the business is offline, and there’s no way to know for sure when the DDoS attack will end. Between the frantic IT staff trying to block the wave of bad traffic, the apologies and frustrations of affected companies, and the online complaints of clients, the affect of an attack can be substantial and often a devastating loss for a company, adding up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit loss and collateral damage from the attack.
The reasons that a DDoS attack can occur are as multiple as the people it affects. There really is no particular type of business that isn’t a target for a DDoS attack. They can happen to government services just as easily as to a video game voice chat. The DDoS attacker might be doing it for fun or as a statement against their target. They could do it for a ransom against the company they’re keeping from doing business, or be a competitor trying to take the credibility out of their opposition. They could also be doing it as a distraction to cover up another type of cyberattack.
Fully Automated and Managed DDoS Mitigation
What can you do to protect your business from a DDoS attack?
The most effective method you can employ to protect your business from a DDoS attacks is Cloud Mitigation. Using a DDoS protection service provider such as Kobi gives you access to a global network with massive amounts of bandwidth & mitigation capacity which is used to scrub your incoming traffic so that only “clean” traffic can get through in the event of an attack.
What organisations require DDoS protection?
While in the past DDoS attacks were mostly focused on large media outlets, multi-national financial institutes & government bodies, of late these attacks have also been targeting education bodies, forums, hosting providers & retail websites. In fact it seems that they are now occurring randomly with no apparent reasoning behind them and targeting companies from all industries.
As DDoS attacks can affect at any business type, our solution is aimed at all markets. Here are a few industries our service is focused on:
- Online Retail
- Financial Institutions
- Government Institutions
- Data centres
- Non-profit organisations
How much does DDoS Cloud Mitigation cost?
With Kobi DDoS Mitigation you select your plan based how much clean traffic you wish to able to receive in the event of a DDoS attack. This means that no matter the size of an attack, the amount of clean traffic you receive will be related directly to the DDoS plan you have chosen.
